The civilization began around 6000 BC when people settled in the early Nile Valley. From 5550 to 3050 BC was the pre-dynastic period during which small settlements flourished along the Nile.

The new kingdom was characterized by the rule of 18 to the 20th dynasties. The tomb in the Valley of the Kings was built. Akhenaten, Tutankhamun, Ramses II and Hatshepsut Tuthmose and were the major Pharaohs of the time. The kingdom existed until 1070 BC. From 1070 to 525 BC was the third intermediate period during which the Nubians conquered Egypt and restored traditional values and religion. The end of the period was 672 to 332 BC and 26 to 31 dynasties ruled during this period. 27 The dynasty was established by a king of Persia. The Greco-Roman period is said to be from 332 BC to 641 AD.
