This statue is that of a supervisor. The sculpture captures the finer details of how a supervisor looked and dressed in ancient times. Sheik is not a sheikh in reality, but a supervisor of manual workers. The sculpture shows the man with a stick, with one foot in front indicating the supervision and ingenuity of their duties.

The statue is carved out of wood. Very surprisingly, it has survived all these years. The supervisor is slightly overweight, indicating that it is middle-aged and financially healthy. Staff in his hand indicates that this is a person of authority. His face calm and smiling portrait contentment.

Head of Amenemhat III


This is the sculpture torso of a mighty king named the 12th dynasty Amenemhet III. The art is very dynamic, and has nothing to envy to the sensitivity of modern art.
