Tutankhamun Papyrus Sandals

Tutankhamun Papyrus Sandals is one of a hundred pairs of sandals found in the tomb of Tutankhamun. Unlike many of the others, which are ceremonial sandals, elaborately decorated or never used by the king, this pair is the sort of simple traditional sandals worn by Egyptian people.

It seems that the king wore this style of footwear during his lifetime. The sandals were usually made of papyrus stems .

It is also the style of footwear worn by the priests and called "sacerdotal sandals." They can be seen on the feet of priests painted on the walls of Egyptian temples.
