Sarcophagus of Nakht

This attractive rectangular sarcophagus made of limestone belongs to Nakht, head of the guild of craftsmen Abydos. It takes the form of a house whose doors symbolically-represented, and its decoration is very simple. Each of the four sides bears a horizontal line of hieroglyphic inscriptions, wear long sides, in addition to five columns of text evenly spaced intervals. At one end, near the head of the body of the deceased, two-oudjat eyes, which ensured the permanent protection of the life in the hereafter. The short sides are decorated with figures of Isis and Nephthys mourning in their function.
